Capricorn Country Club is a semi private golf course which has grown in to a 15 hole golf course with approx 300 Members, and with a further 3 holes currently in the process of being built. With the introduction of the 2 new holes in 2010, it sees this golf course 3 holes shy of its 18 hole counterparts. The course prior to 2010 was just short of 6000m with a par of 72, the new holes have shortened this a little to 5524m Par 70, But with only 3x par 5s and some of the most challenging par 3s you will find around, makes this golf course harder than its length suggests . It also boasts very fast and responsive greens and smooth fairways situated by the beautiful Fitzroy River. These characteristics give this short course its high course rating being only 1 shot less than its par rating.
Shane Baxter, the PGA Professional who won the 2007 Better Electrical City Of Rockhampton Pro-am commented The course is set up great. There are 4 driveable par 4s, scenic par 3s and when you put that with enjoyable playing partners that you find in the Rockhampton area they have a recipe for success
